Long Time Dodgers Exec Billy DeLury Passes

Heard from some camp friends this morning that long time member of the Dodgers family, Billy DeLury, passed away last night. Born in 1933, Billy started working with the Dodgers as a 17-year-old office boy. Over the last 64 years he has built a reputation as one of baseball’s most respected executives. DeLury was hired by the Brooklyn Dodgers to distribute mail in 1950 and worked his way up the ladder, serving in the Dodger ticket office and later became the club’s traveling secretary for more than 20 years, negotiating hotel, airplane and ground transportation agreements and providing outstanding service to Dodger players and traveling personnel. A lifelong Dodger who will truly be missed. Rest in Peace Billy.
