McCourt Says the Camps Should Go On

I got a lot of questions last Saturday about why I was at Dodger Stadium and not playing. After all it was “The Show.” No, I wasn’t injured though the old knees are not what they used to be especially after a full week at camp and then five innings of catching in our league game the following week. No, I have played at the stadium on just about every other day camp vets have been able to play in “the Show” so I thought I’d sit this one out and watch. Probably the only time I’ll ever get to watch a game from the “expensive” seats right behind home. Nice! And besides what could be better than spending a Saturday at Dodger Stadium watching baseball.

Los Angeles Dodgers Adult Baseball Camp, Spring 2008, ended Friday evening following the traditional awards dinner. Though the food was as good as it always was, the dinner was bitter-sweet.

Podres Tribute Fund Opened

In case you haven’t already sent flowers or tributes to the Podres family and would like to do so, Joanie, Johnny Podres’ wife has a better idea. Help out Johnny’s favorite group of kids at the town of Moriah Little League where they have named a field Johnny’s honor. Camper David Gordon is spearheading this one so write him.
