One of baseball’s finest glove men as he won six straight Gold Gloves (1967-72) for his virtually flawless play at first base … had a lifetime fielding average of .995 with just 49 errors in nearly 1,300 games … including 1,108 games at first base and 155 in the outfield … spent his entire none-year Major League career with the Dodgers (1964-72) … part of an all-switch-hitting infield with Jim Lefebvre, Maury Wills, and Jim Gilliam … played on two Dodger pennant-winning teams, including the World Championship club of 1965 … batted .304 and socked a home run in the 1965 Fall Classic … had a big season in 1970 as he finished fifth in the National League MVP voting after hitting .319 with 111 RBI, 54 runs scored and an NL-leading 47 doubles … is only player in Los Angeles Dodgers history to hit for the cycle as he did so on May 7, 1970 vs. the New York Mets … came out of retirement in 1974 to play for Nankai in the Japanese League and batted .301 … after his career, did some broadcasting and acting … appeared in an episode of the popular television sitcom “The Brady Bunch” … is currently a member of the Dodgers Speakers Bureau.
